Welcome to the Hakwa Rider Guide! This comprehensive guide will help you make the most of the Hakwa platform for all your transportation needs.

1. Installation & Setup

Download the App

  • iOS: Search for "Hakwa Rider" in the App Store
  • Android: Search for "Hakwa Rider" in Google Play Store

Create Your Account

  1. Open the app and tap "Sign Up"
  2. Enter your full name, email, and phone number
  3. Verify your email address
  4. Grant location permissions when prompted
  5. You're ready to book your first ride!

2. Booking a Ride

Quick Booking Steps

  1. Open the app and allow location access
  2. Enter your pickup location (or use current location)
  3. Enter your destination
  4. Select service type (Hail, Rental, or Intercity)
  5. Review the estimated fare
  6. Choose payment method (Cash or M-PAiSA)
  7. Tap "Request Ride"

Service Types Explained

Hail Service

Immediate pickup for quick trips. Perfect for getting around town, running errands, or reaching appointments. Fare is calculated based on distance.

Rental Service

Book a vehicle for hours or days. Choose self-drive or chauffeur-driven. Ideal for tours, day trips, or when you need a vehicle for an extended period.

Intercity Service

Long-distance travel between cities. Comfortable rides for journeys across Fiji. Pre-scheduled departures with fixed routes.

Searching for Driver

The system is finding an available driver near you.

Driver Accepted

A driver has accepted your request. You can see their name, photo, vehicle details, and rating. Call or message them if needed.

Driver Arriving

Track your driver's location in real-time on the map. See estimated arrival time.

Driver Arrived

Your driver has arrived at the pickup location. Head to the vehicle and start your trip.

Trip In Progress

Follow your route to the destination. See live location, remaining distance, and ETA.

Trip Completed

View trip summary, make payment, and rate your driver.

During Your Ride

  • View real-time location updates on the map
  • See estimated time of arrival
  • Chat with your driver for special instructions
  • Call your driver if needed
  • Share your trip with friends/family for safety
  • Access emergency SOS button if needed

4. Payment Methods

Available Payment Options

💵 Cash

Pay your driver directly in cash at the end of the trip. Make sure to have exact change if possible.

📱 M-PAiSA

Vodafone Fiji's mobile money service. Pay securely through your M-PAiSA account. Link your M-PAiSA number in the app settings.

How to Add Payment Method

  1. Go to Profile → Payment Preferences
  2. Select your preferred payment method
  3. For M-PAiSA, enter your mobile number
  4. Save your preferences

5. Trip History & Receipts

Viewing Your Trip History

  1. Open the app and go to the "Trips" tab
  2. See all your completed and cancelled trips
  3. Tap on any trip to view full details
  4. Download receipts for expense reports

Trip Details Include:

  • Date and time of trip
  • Pickup and dropoff locations
  • Driver name and rating
  • Distance traveled
  • Trip duration
  • Fare breakdown
  • Payment method used
  • Rating you gave

6. Rating System

Rating Your Driver

After each trip, you'll be asked to rate your driver from 1 to 5 stars. Your feedback helps maintain service quality.

Managing Your Profile

Access your profile from the Profile tab:

  • Update your name and phone number
  • Add or change profile photo
  • Set preferred payment method
  • Add home and work addresses for quick booking
  • View your rider statistics

8. Safety Features

🚨 Emergency SOS

Access the emergency SOS button during any trip to:

  • Call emergency services (911)
  • Share your location with authorities
  • Alert Hakwa support team

Share Your Trip

Let friends or family track your journey:

  1. During your trip, tap "Share Trip"
  2. Choose contact method (SMS, WhatsApp, etc.)
  3. Send the live tracking link
  4. Recipients can see your real-time location

Driver Verification

All drivers are verified with background checks and document verification. Before entering the vehicle, confirm:

  • Driver's name matches the app
  • Vehicle plate number matches
  • Driver's photo matches
